In a not-so-imaginary future, grouper fish become fused together with petrol barrels, sharks with rusted-out cars, tortoises with old pottery, crabs with space capsules, octopuses with aeroplanes, and plankton with electroluminescent diodes. These half-rubbish half-animal metal creatures are all trying their best to survive in an underwater world where the food chain has been upended.
