Mathis LOUDJANI, a 4th-year student at MoPA, presents L’AFFÛT, his one-minute third-year graduation film centered on the theme of RETRO GAMING.
2024
A young video game collector uncovers strange disappearances in his library. He sets off on a hunt to catch the culprit and solve this mystery.
Through this film, Mathis aimed to explore new texturing techniques to give his objects a unique painted style. The idea was also to experiment with an innovative workflow in texturing and post-production to recreate realistic painting effects, which proved to be his biggest challenge!
But what is a texturing workflow? Let us explain! It's a process that combines various stages of design and texture application to bring the surfaces and details of a 3D model to life. These techniques help create a distinct visual identity through specific effects, like the look of hand-applied paint.
This experimentation allowed Mathis to rethink his work methods and rise to the challenge brilliantly.
Mathis particularly enjoyed the opportunity to explore and develop new ways of working. He took great pleasure in finding creative solutions throughout the production to achieve his goals.
This project solidified Mathis' passion for visual imagery, especially textures, reaffirming his choice of specialization.
