Florence SIMON, a 4th-year student at MoPA, presents MILKTOOTH, her 1-minute final film from the 3rd year on the theme of RETRO GAMING.

Pia is a little girl who has developed a deep attachment to her virtual pet Tamagotchi. She never parts from it and shares all her activities with it. But an unexpected tragedy shakes up this simple routine, changing Pia’s life in a way she never anticipated.
Florence's short film delves into the world of childhood, exploring its early little heartbreaks, its first changes, but also its moments of wonder. MILKTOOTH especially highlights the magic of this time when every day is filled with endless games, daydreams, and carefree surprises in the early morning.
Florence explains that her biggest challenge was meeting the imposed format: condensing a story into one minute. To achieve a narrative that’s both concise, well-paced, and touching, she paid careful attention to the crucial storyboard stage. Over several weeks, with the help of her mentors, she visually represented each moment of her story through a sequence of hand-drawn sketches. This phase was essential in bringing MILKTOOTH to life.
Creating this third-year graduation film was a time for Florence to reflect on her professional future. It allowed her to explore the two specializations offered in her fourth year at MoPA: careers in animation and careers in imagery. This experience helped clarify her path forward, although she admits that the decision wasn’t easy!
Congratulations to Florence for all the emotions conveyed through her short film.
