Apply« Au Revoir Mon Monde » : Student Academy Awards winner
It is the 4th time that a MoPA film has been one of the winners at the Student Oscars. This year, 2 graduation films had the honor of being among the 7 finalists in the animation category at the Student Academy Awards, and it was the short film ‘Au Revoir Mon Monde’ that took its place on the podium.
‘Au Revoir Mon Monde’ is the result of a year's work and creativity by Astrid NOVAIS, Florian MAURICE, Quentin DEVRED, Maxime FOLTZER, Estelle BONNARDEL and Baptiste DUCHAMPS, 6 students from MoPA School. This short film plunges viewers into a colourful and breathtaking world, where they follow the main character's journey through the streets of a huge city... right in the middle of the end of the world.
MoPA and its students head to London
The short film ‘Au Revoir Mon Monde’ continues its ascent in the international animation world. With more than 30 festival nominations, it is now on the podium of the Student Academy Awards, also known as the ‘student Oscars’, among 2683 other films. Interesting to know: MoPA is already the most decorated school in the world in the International Animation category of the Student Academy Awards, and the only school to have won 2 gold medals.
After a silver medal in 2023 for the film ‘La Diplomatie de l'Éclipse’, this is the fourth time that the MoPA school has seen one of its graduates' graduation films awarded this prestigious prize. But before reaching the podium, ‘Au Revoir Mon Monde’ was a finalist alongside ‘Après Papi’, another short film by MoPA students. These two superb films, with completely different graphic styles and stories, were made by MoPA students graduating in 2023. They have already come a long way since their release. In total, the two films have been selected for over 60 festivals!
Three major awards for three student films
In winning the Student Academy Awards, ‘Au Revoir Mon Monde’ joins ‘Après Papi’ and ‘Le Bruit du Silence’, both of which received prestigious awards earlier this year.
‘Après Papi’ won Best Student Project at the SIGGRAPHs in 2024, and “Le Bruit du Silence” won first prize at the Yugo BAFTA Student Awards this summer. With ‘Au Revoir Mon Monde’, 3 MoPA films have received 3 world-famous awards in the animation industry, putting MoPA once again at the forefront of the international scene.
