Meet Théo (2020 promotion) who chose to becomes a rigger
Théo was responsible for the animation, rigging, writing the voice-overs and editing “Louis’ Shoes” as part of his final-year project. At MoPA, each week he had the chance of listening to a guest speaker specialised in a different domain. A fantastic opportunity for him to converse with professionals throughout the entire year!
His final-year project, the film “Louis’ Shoes”, won the Student Academy Award and was nominated for an Oscar. A victory that reflects the quality of the film and above all a real honour for Théo and his classmates!
Théo opted for a career as a rigger in a studio after having discovered the wide variety of jobs available in the field of animation during his studies at MoPA. A rigger is, in other words, someone who creates the skeletal frameworks of the characters in animated films.
His advice: “make the most of your studies, try and experiment in different areas because you won’t necessarily have the same level of freedom in the professional world.”
