The campus

An open-air museum, the city of Arles offers an exceptional setting for our animation school. Arles is now a major university centre with over 1,300 students coming from all over France and abroad. MoPA is at the heart of this city of art and history, classified by UNESCO as a world heritage site.

MoPA Arles Campus: School of 3D Animation

The MoPA campus

Located in the heart of the city of Arles, the MoPA 3D animation school offers 1,700m² entirely dedicated to creativity. In addition to “traditional” classrooms, special rooms have been designed to meet the needs of our programs: a stop motion room, sound recording room, color grading room, drawing studio… and even a projection room!

The campus is also equipped with around 200 computers with the same software they use in professional studios.

Arles, a student city

Today, Arles is a university centre with more than 1,300 students in more than 20 public and private higher education programs. Students from all over France and abroad come to study in Arles, a city renowned for the excellence of its training programs.

Roman and Romanesque heritage

Arles is a city of art and history, classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage of Humanity site for three reasons:

  • for its ancient centre and all its Roman and Romanesque monuments
  • as a natural space of global interest: registration of the Camargue in the World Network of Biosphere Reserves
  • as part of the St James’ Way (also the Way to Rome and to Jerusalem). Since the Middle Ages, the Arles Way has been one of the four routes through France and Europe to Santiago

Arles is city open to the outside world as it welcomes many tourists and major international events throughout the year: the Easter Feria, the weekend of contemporary art and during the summer the Rencontres Internationals de la Photographie, the Suds Festival, les Escales du Cargo, the festival Arelate,...

Museums, institutions, associations and foundations are devoted to the dissemination of art such as the Departmental Museum of Ancient Arles, the Vincent Van Gogh foundation, the Reattu Museum, the Museon Arlaten, the Camargue Museum, as well as the Arles Contemporain network which brings together nearly 18 venues dedicated to contemporary art.

The city is also home to the LUMA Foundation Campus whose tower was designed by one of the greatest contemporary architects, Frank Gehry, and is an architectural feat.
