VAE, Professional Training in 3D Animation at MoPA
IMPORTANT:
Following the adoption of the “Labour Market” bill in November 2022, the system for validating acquired experience will evolve. This page will be updated regularly to clarify the new procedure. The Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE) is an individual right and a means of obtaining official recognition of one’s skills.
VAE is accessible to anyone, regardless of their age, level of education or status. All experience related to the targeted certification is taken into account, including volunteering.
This system is of particular interest for people who were unable to obtain the diploma initially envisaged, those who had to enter working life early and who have a career which was essentially built “in the field”.
A useful tool for career development, MoPA’s VAE enables you to:
- Enhance your skills in film animation and 3D creation,
- Make your professional career path more cohesive,
- Relaunch your career in the animation industry,
- Pre-empt/accelerate a job change,
- Change career direction.
The professional certification accessible via the MoPA School of 3D Film Animation VAE:
- RNCP “Expert in 3D design, production and animation” level 7 certification (equiv. Bac+5) issued by MoPA. Professional certification registered with the RNCP by decision of France Compétences on 15/09/2021 (RNCP35879)
General framework of program
The process of validating acquired experience requires 8 to 12 months of preparation from the candidate. It consists of 6 main stages:
- Self-assessment, using the skills framework, to validate your choice of professional certification.
- Submission of the admissibility request file which will allow the admissibility committee to assess the application. The commission issues a favourable opinion or a refusal of admissibility.
- In the event of a favourable opinion of admissibility, an appointment is made with the VAE contact: vae@ecole-mopa.fr
- A date is chosen to appear before the jury and set up a work schedule.
- Writing of the evidence file: to demonstrate that the experience acquired has made it possible to master the skills of the targeted certification. The candidate can choose to be supported in this process by an external organisation.
- VAE jury: the jury is made up of qualified teachers and professionals in the targeted specialism. The jury studies and evaluates the evidence file and interviews the candidate. After deliberation, the jury’s decision is communicated to the candidate no later than one week after the oral examination.
Three decisions are possible:
- Full validation: the jury endorses the issuing of the targeted professional certification, or the targeted skill set.
- Partial validation: the jury grants the candidate part of the diploma but additional training and/or the writing of a dissertation, or the acquisition of additional experience in a particular field is required. New validation may be requested within a maximum period of 5 years following the jury’s deliberation.
- No validation is granted.
